    .A FAST MOVING BUT POTENT WEATHER SYSTEM WILL BRING SNOW TO OUR ENTIRE AREA TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT. AS THESTORM STRENGTHENS TO OUR EAST LATER TUESDAY, THE WINDS WILL INCREASE RESULTING IN AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. AS THE STORM CONTINUES TO EXIT, BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL QUICKLY SETTLE IN TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT.

    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TUESDAY TO 6 AM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
    
    * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...5 TO 9 INCHES.
    
    * TIMING...SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA TOWARD LATE TUESDAY
      MORNING AND THE MIDDAY HOURS, THEN CONTINUE THROUGH MUCH OF
      TUESDAY NIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TUESDAY
      AFTERNOON AND EVENING, WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF AROUND AN INCH PER
      HOUR.
    
    * IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS DUE TO SNOW COVERED ROADS
      AND PERIODS OF LOW VISIBILITY. AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING
      SNOW WILL DEVELOP ESPECIALLY LATER TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY
      NIGHT AS WINDS INCREASE, RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED
      VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. THE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING RUSH
      HOUR WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED.
    
    * WINDS...NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH TUESDAY
      AFTERNOON, BECOMING NORTH AND NORTHWEST TUESDAY NIGHT.
    
    * TEMPERATURES...MAINLY IN THE 20S TUESDAY, THEN FALLING THROUGH
      THE TEENS AND SINGLE DIGITS TUESDAY NIGHT.
    
    * WIND CHILLS...MAINLY AROUND 10 DEGREES TUESDAY, THEN DROPPING
      TO AROUND 10 BELOW ZERO TUESDAY NIGHT. THESE VALUES CAN QUICKLY
      CAUSE FROSTBITE TO EXPOSED SKIN AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA.
    
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
    
    A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. 
    THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
    
    AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL GREATLY REDUCE THE VISIBILITY ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS LATER TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL RESULT IN SNOW BLOWING BACK ONTO PREVIOUSLY PLOWED ROADWAYS. USE EXTRACAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

    In Preparation for this Storm All residence are reminded to please remove your vehicles from the Township roadways.

    • Any vehicles left in the roadway will be subject to Township Ordinance 323-10B.

    PARKING PROHIBITED

    Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that is covers the streets and highways, an emergency shall exist and no vehicle shall be parked on the street or highways. Ordinance 323-10B.

    The above parking prohibitions will remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.

    All vehicle owners are requested to comply with Ordinance 323-10B. This will permit Lacey Township Public Works to plow the roads for the residents.
